Samantha Fortenberry

Ever since I was little I wanted to be an artist. On career day in kindergarten I dressed up in a little pink coat and beret and proudly brought along my paintbrushes that helped me create my masterpiece. That was 15 years ago. Jump forward to today and I am now an artist with a burning passion for photography. I found my love for photography by taking a chance and signing up for a photo I class in high school during my Sophomore year. That was the first time I really picked up the camera and saw it as a tool for creating art. Ever since then I have been developing my eye for photography.

I am constantly introducing new ideas and techniques into my work. If I see something another artist does and find it inspiring I research how they do it, and I may even use that technique in my work. I love trying things out for myself to see what works for me and what doesn't.

I am highly inspired by the world around me, as well as other artists in my field. I find that there is vast beauty in nature, and we should all stop and take time to enjoy it. I have found an artist, Marwane Pallas, who I think has captured this beautifully. His art combines photographs with other media in a surreal and beautiful way unlike anything I have see...
