I was born in St. Louis, MO. USA in 1934. After working as a civil rights lawyer for about 30 years, I decided to become an artist in the 1970s. I paint with pastels and oils, mostly landscapes and figures, but I have done all kinds of subjects. I ama more and more interested in exploring color freely to express what I feel about the subject rather than to illustrate.
I went to Amherst College and Harvard Law School. I have worked with and learned from many artists, including Sheldon Helfman, Doug Dawson, Bill Herring, Albert Handell, Anita West, and Colleen Howe, who have all helped me greatly.
I am exhibiting nat the Artistic Edge and Patris
galleries in Sacramento, CA. In 2010 I had a one person Show at The Butler Gallery o fAmerican Art Art in Ohio.
