Rachel Girard Artist Statement


Art has always been apart of my life as far back as my first memories I have with exploring materials such as clay, paint and fabric, finding a certain peace and focus in the process of the project. It was obvious to me at an early age that  I would be pursuing my artistic endeavors at a professional level and thus, persistence has provided me with the skills I'm confident in to continue. During my early twenties I began developing my love of painting. My online gallery went up in "˜95 which provided me with consignment work ranging from cd art to freelance paintings and illustration for short stories. That year I also started cosmetology training for hair. From there I developed a decade long and fulfilling career in the industry involving me in fashion shows, weddings, theater and make up for film and along with learning the art of extensions, I was able to push the far reaches of hair as art, giving people their dream hair do's.
