Regina Wells

I am concerned with the interpenetration of symbol, myth and language and how they spiral to reveal the contradictions between our conscious and subconscious being. The universal and the intimate; fear and desire, creation vs destruction; presence and absence; our exterior reality in contrast to our internal world. I explore these contradictions through a formal and conceptual interplay of materials, texts and images in order to draw out of them the stark realities of our culture as well as the dark elusive dichotomies that permeate beyond boundaries towards shared existential concerns.
