About Douglas Newton

I was born in Washington DC. I've drawn and painted all my life. I am working on a series of paintings of candy, inspired by the light on the foils, cellophane and the candy itself. I also paint still lives of food, toys and household objects


I am a graduate of Stanford University and also studied at the Art Center College of Design. I have shown in solo exhibitions at Dacia Gallery in NYC, Lotus Gallery in Woodstock, NY and the Educational Testing Institute in Princeton, New Jersey. I have been in numerous group shows and my work is in many private collections. I live and work in Brooklyn, New York.,
