About Johanna Pihlajamaa

Johanna Pihlajamaa (born 1973) is a visual artist living in Tampere. She combines woodcuts with other printmaking techniques and drawing.

Pihlajamaa graduated from Imatra Art School in 1997, and completed her BA of fine arts in Tampere Polytechnic University of Applied Sciences in 2003.

She has given solo exhibitions in Finland and Germany and participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad.

Johanna Pihlajamaa is also an art print technician, competent in engraving techniques and Japanese woodblock printing.

Pihlajamaa has worked as an art print technician in Printmaking studio Himmelblau in Tampere 1999 - 2011. Nowdays she works as an art print technician in Lilith Cooperative.
