Born in Hatch Street, Dublin. I work as a freelance photographer: reportage, documentary + art. I have been involved in the Arts in all kinds of ways: acting - film & theatre: Paris, Dublin, London. Painting murals, teaching water colour painting + photography: adult education/workshops and special needs. Art & crafts to children + reciting my poetry. Inspired by a blade of grass to August Rodin; my art teacher Chris Vis; my mentor Daisaku Ikeda; photographers Robert Capa, Henri Cartier Bresson + in part by Eve Arnold: 'When you really respect the person you are photographing, much is given.' Fellow artist friends Anthony Lyttle, Claire Carpenter + Peter H. Sellers and family, painters, Nancy Phibbs (also etcher) + Norah McGuinness. One of my tutors said, 'a painting is never finished'. Like a good party, the trick is to know when to leave!
Artists have their finger on the pulse of societies optimism and pessimism. If you wish to know another countries culture look, listen, feel its art, poetry, songs, music . . .
Fascists fear happiness, beauty, colour. Life!
