My work deals with both highly personal and wider themes. I often tackle these through appropriated found imagery, which I then manipulate to give new meaning. This often takes the form of paintings and collage, sometimes combined. My work flirts with a dark sense of humour and sense of underlying disturbance. I take inspiration from a number of different sources, not only art, but also film, illustration, animation and music. This includes: Francis Bacon, Neal Tait, Ansel Krut, Vincent Van Gogh, Edvard Munch, David Lynch, Stanley Donwood, Raymond Pettibon, Gary Larson, early to mid-twentieth century advertisements, Jean Michel Basquiat, Lo-fi music, Bill Hicks, Edward Gorey, Monika Baer, Gerald Slota, John Heartfield, Dadaism...
Took Foundation Studies in Art and Design at Ravensbourne College (Chislehurst) from 2004-2005.
Came to Canterbury in 2005 to study BA Fine Art at UCA.
Whilst at UCA, I was part of a group of artists who had an exhibition in 2007 in Ramsgate (Kent) entitled 'Halfway House'.
During the course, my practice focussed mainly on painting, collage and sound.
Graduated 2008 with a 2:1.
