SCRIVO(Arsène Joseph De Schrijver) -1942-Borsbeke-Belgium Painter.See also: (Pseudonym of De SCHRIJVER Arséne,Joseph) (Borsbeke 1942). Belgian Painter. Evening courses at the Academy of Brussels (1959). He started working in 1964 for the City of Brussels, as organizer of exhibitions. Because of this he was steadily in contact with home and foreign artists. (Picasso, Chagall, Alechinsky; Appel, Dotremont, Corneille, Mogens Bale, Mendelson, Quinet, Colon, Plomteux, Hick, Lorjou e.a.).Belongs as a painter to that group of artists who express their emotions in a direct artistic language. It is a nice abstraction of my oeuvre. But to get this far, it has been a long way of searching with all kind of forms, colours, figures, materials, movements, perspectives, To arrive at this kind of simplicity, you always need to go a long way. I consider this as an evolution to the most fundamental. I paint as I am. What I paint, is coming from inside me. It is like I spit all my most intimate feelings, convictions and fears on to the canvas. It is like I liberate myself with a question for the viewer. Every painting I make, is a pure self portrait without any make-up, without posing; and in which I can clearly be recognized. My battlefield, the canvas on which I fire a burst of colours, is my confessional for getting rid of what I want to get rid off.The big happinessAs a sixteen year old he skipped fifth and sixth grade as the Fathers, w...
