How you see changes what you see.

There has always been a space, a separation, between what I
see and my experience. I create images from my experience. I share these images and connect with others. For me the drama is between dark and light- the edge, context. Art uses a shape or form to define context. I like to draw a shape-either repeating its context or creating a new one. The Bear collages are part of a larger project called the Great Canadian Spirit. These photocollages mark my return to Canada from Hawaii in 2007. They represent a very different time and place. You can view the whole series at . In the Great Canadian Spirit Series, I borrow the shape of the animal to reframe the space, as pointer or sign of something greater.

Most recently I have used my camera as a pencil and brush. The computor as my canvas and the internet as a gallery in addition to the EnglishBay Gallery.

My art has its roots in painting. It is influenced by Matisse and Picasso, minimal art, abstract expressionism and pop art.
