Aachen Diana

Aachen Diana is a contemporary abstract artist based in Vienna, Austria. She holds a PhD in Visual Arts and works professionally as an art conservator and restorer. With extensive academic experience, she has taught at several art universities, combining theoretical knowledge with studio practice. Her work has been shown in national and international exhibitions and her paintings are held in private collections worldwide.

Her artistic practice is rooted in gestural abstraction, where movement, texture and materiality play a central role. She explores a wide range of supports and techniques, balancing minimal compositions with intense, vibrant color. Drawing inspiration from everyday experiences, her work translates emotional states and inner rhythms into dynamic visual forms. She frequently builds rich, tactile surfaces using palette knives and broad brushes, working primarily with acrylics and charcoal.
