Aaron Dematteo

San Francisco based Architect and Musician Aaron DeMatteo’s explorations in photography abandon the traditional doctrines of capturing single moments in time and combines multiple moments, or periods of time into single multidimensional images.

His work plays with patterns and repetition as the result of layering multiple views and perspectives, often of the same subject, resulting in texturally rich and otherworldly compositions that take on a new life of their own.

Composite images are then often altered and manipulated with the result reminiscent of fragmented memories that often differ from reality, with some images containing apocalyptic undertones as commentary of the world’s trend towards overpopulation, demographic dissonance, and the non-conservative development of our planet.
