Aaron Rodriguez

I was born in 1986 in the Canary Islands, Spain, where the intensity of nature, light, and color sparked my curiosity and creativity from an early age. I am currently based in Tokyo, Japan, where I develop my practice as a contemporary painter.

My artistic path was deeply influenced by my grandfather, Mario Rodriguez, who introduced me to art in childhood and encouraged creative freedom and exploration. His guidance remains a lasting presence in my work.

My work explores the space between abstraction and figuration, moving fluidly across abstract expressionism, landscape, and neo-figurative imagery. I am interested in emotion, gesture, and the expressive potential of color and texture, using an intuitive and process-driven approach.

Experimentation plays a central role in my practice. I work with a range of materials and techniques, allowing spontaneity and layered surfaces to shape each piece. Through this process, I seek to create a direct emotional connection with the viewer.
