Eve Abaray

Born at the dawning of the age of Aquarius (1969) in Pittsburgh PA, I have a degree in photography but choose to make a living as a highschool Spanish teacher, travel when I can, and take photos that move me.I began as a yearbook photographer in highschool, went on to be the photo- editor of the Saint Louis University News, then on to a photography degree at Webster University, worked as a fashion photographer's assistant and darkroom slave, a corporate portrait-studio photographer, a darkroom technician, and a freelancer. All the while, bartending paid the bills. Ten years of bartending while trying to be a photographer led to a change of plans in my 30's. I now teach highschool, photograph on occasion for friends (in bands, shooting indie films) and travel with my cameras when I can. I see the world in photojournalistic shots, filmatic stills,and close ups that make me stop and stare. Take a look.

A degree from Webster University in Photography (1991), several group shows in the 1990's, one alumni show, freelance work for bands, friends, filmmakers and shooting just for my own amusement. Also have a Teacher's Certication in Spanish (K-12) and an MAT in Education and Spanish.,
