Abiel Ceret

Abiel Ceret is an Indonesian sculptor whose work centers on the concept of “Sangu,” a Javanese term meaning life provisions. His practice explores how inherited values, lived experiences, and personal crises shape human identity and resilience.

Working primarily with figurative sculpture, Ceret investigates the tension between instinct and structure, raw vitality and self-control. His works do not portray serenity but rather the ongoing process of tension, adaptation, and transformation within the human condition.

Rooted in his experience studying and living away from home, his sculptures reflect how individuals navigate uncertainty and construct meaning through the conscious use of the inner resources they carry throughout life.
