Amelia Abyflare

I create work that speaks about what is often left unsaid.
Through painting, drawing, and sculpting, I explore vulnerability, social trauma, and the tension
between fragility and resilience. Words sometimes enter my pieces, not as explanations but as
part of the image itself — fragmented thoughts, direct phrases, and raw honesty.
My visual language combines intimacy and discomfort, irony and sincerity, weaving narratives that
are deeply personal yet resonate collectively.

I am mostly a self-taught artist, but I must acknowledge my art teacher Anastasya Onyskiv, a
woman artist who taught me everything I know at her studio. I was 14 when I started studying
with her, and she was the one who truly believed in me. I studied under her guidance for 2–3
years. Since then, I have continued to develop my skills independently, attending life drawing
sessions and pursuing ongoing self-directed practice. Additionally, I have completed courses in
3D modelling and clothing construction to expand my technical abilities. I believe that the right
mentors and genuine passion often matter more than formal degrees.
