Lviv-based neo-naive artist and successor to a prominent artistic legacy.
I was born in Lviv (Ukraine) into a family of renowned professional artists, Yuriy and Vira Shcherbatenko. Growing up in such a creative environment profoundly shaped my worldview and artistic taste, allowing me to develop a style free from academic dogmas.
In my work, I focus on the genre of Naïve art (Primitivism), exploring spontaneous and lively scenes of human life. I believe in a deliberate simplification of artistic means - for me, it is a way to reveal a profound internal world and create complex, truthful imagery. While my canvases primarily feature people and their daily interactions, these scenes carry the energy of eternal, biblical motifs. My artistic world is further complemented by lovingly rendered animals and symbolic still lifes, which add depth to the overall narrative.
My artworks are held in private collections worldwide, and I am happy to share my vision of the world with you here.
