Will Leonard

Will's work reflects the impact of the three continents where he has lived, studied and worked. Raised in New York Will studied sculpture, wood work, painting and printmaking. Hallmarks of form, line and negative space from his training as a sculptor are supplemented with colour and repetitive patterns inspired by thirty years living in Calcutta, India. From his current home in the Netherlands Will makes unique 3D collages and paintings bearing the influence of all of these cultures.
The collages are constructed from indivual uniquely constructed elements made from paper, acrylic paint, carton, wood veneer and sandpaper. Many of the pieces include hand crafted hard wood box frames to accomodate the depth of the work. Will's work is held in private collections in the USA, Canada, the UK, France, Finland, Italy and The Netherlands.
