Leandro Espinosa

Born in Monterrey, Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City when he was three years old. Belonging to a family of artists, received training in the fine arts from early childhood. First work on film and photography was done for his father (who made documentaries). Years later began accumulating negatives made during trips as a music performer. Those negatives (several thousands) became the basis of future imageries to be transformed. Made studies in Mexico, England, Belgium and the USA.

Besides a D.M.A. in composition, a M. M. in conducting and advanced courses in sculpture, there was always a strong emphasis in all of the fine arts in practically every school he attended in his youth, particularly the "Escuela Formativa por las Artes" of Monterrey, Mexico, developing a multidisciplinary approach becoming a characteristic with a view for the future, both educationally and aesthetically. Other schools attended included the Morley College of London, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Conservatory of Ghent.

Participation at the exhibit "Lo splendore della verità. La bellezza della carità. Omaggio degli artisti a Benedetto XVI per il 60° di sacerdozio" held at the Vatican in 2011, as one of the 60 representative artists from the world.
