Svetlana Aleksandrovna

I was born in Nowokusnezk (Russia) and enjoyed a very pleasant childhood in Jaroslawl, an old city along the 'Golden Ring' in the northeast of Moscow.
My father was a russian general, my mother teached history and philosophy at the university.
From my mother I learned to love arts, but my temperament comes from my father, who's ancestries were leaders of the Don-Cossacks.
From early on I realized that I enjoyed observing people and analyzing their habits.But although I studied anatomy for a few semesters, I was never interested in the visible world alone but also in the hidden thoughts and emotions that create the mood of a person.
Inspired by the paintings of surrealistic artists like René Magritte, Edvard Munch and Marc Chagall, I developed the strong desire to express these emotions in my own paintings.
Since 20 years I have now been living in Germany and - besides my regular occupation - was always enjoying painting during this period.
Today I am fully dedicated to painting and look forward to presenting my own paintings to a wider audience. I hope you will enjoy it.

I visited high school and university in Jaroslawl/Russia, where I studied medicine and also worked as a nurse. After I moved to Germay in 1994 I also worked as an aviation security assistant while I was painting at the same time.
I trained the necessary techniques in various painting courses in Russia but also as an self-taught.
As of today, some of my paintings are located in private collections in Russia (St. Petersburg, Moscow, Jaroslawl, Perm), South Korea (Seoul), France (Sarreguemines) and Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and others).
