Monika Lorincova

I am a UK-based artist, originally from Slovakia.
I paint mainly with acrylics or oils, sometimes including collages, with a focus on the figurative representation of the world I live in. As a people orientated person, the main inspiration for my work comes from observing society. Through my paintings, I examine people and places, our cultural (or media) trends and social norms, how these affect the way we try to present ourselves, their effect on our mental health, and repercussions of our actions on the lives of others as well as the nature and environment around us. I see my art as a way of reflecting on society through the behaviour of an individual.
