Remy Gerega

Remy Gerega is an Australian fine art photographer working between Sydney and Montreal. His aerial images explore the patterns of coastal life. Working above Australian beaches and the Italian coast, he photographs the meeting of water, sand and people, revealing compositions that become visible from the air.

His photographs bring together the geometry of umbrellas, the movement of swimmers and the colour of the sea. Captured from helicopters and light aircraft, the work invites a closer look at familiar places and the small human details within them.

Born in Perth, Remy studied photography and design at the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Jönköping in Sweden, graduating with Honours in 2007. His work has been included in Saatchi Art curated collections, including Best of 2024: Photography and Aerial Art. He offers signed limited-edition prints and accepts commissions.

Abstract Aerial will features a selection of large scale prints from the artist’s collection of aerial photography of Australia’s landscapes. Showcasing the beauty of the remote outback of Shark Bay, WA to the busy beaches of Sydney, NSW.  

Over the last 5 years, Remy Gerega has created a series of aerial images focusing on Australia’s immense landscape, with the aim of exhibiting the beauty of the country from a whole new perspective. Gerega’s landscape photography projects us into another world, waiting for the perfect moment; when light and weather are just right Gerega will take to air to photograph. Shooting from a door less helicopter or Cessna allows to get a true birds eye view.
