Yohanes Dedeo

Hello and welcome!

My name is Yohanes Dedeo Wahyu Widayat, usually called Yohan, and I was born in 1982 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia's City of Culture.

After graduating from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, I began working as an artist. Initially, I painted decorative landscapes with the natural textures of the rocks of the Gunungkidul Karst Area, which forms the main part of the Gunung Sewu UNESCO Global Geopark, stretching across southern Java, known for its landscape of conical hills, ancient valleys, and underground rivers. But over time, I developed a strong interest in abstract art, particularly texture, lines, and flowing brushstrokes, and this is now the main focus of my work.

I am drawn to the textures of natural rocks like marble. For me, the patterns in marble have high artistic value and are formed by natural processes and sedimentation.
This natural process of marble patterns has inspired my explorations with various media and techniques over the years, creating paintings that mimic the natural process of marble formation.

This naturalness of texture and lines is what I want to present to you on the sides of the walls of your home which can bring the aroma of nature to life.
