I was born in Reno, Nevada in 1950. We lived in Richland, Washington from 1951 to 1958, when we moved to Los Alamos, New Mexico. I graduated from High School there and left to attend university in Utah, where I now reside.

I grew up listening to and playing music, exploring the world outside and learning gardening and cooking. I was interested in sports, hiking, fishing and other activities that most kids my age liked. I learned all aspects related to metal casting and finishing. I also learned to fabricate metals that developed into a direction for my metal sculptures. I worked there for 13 years. After that time I worked, however briefly, for a sign company where I further developed my skills in fabricating and painting.

In 1983, I met an interior designer who had done extensive business furnishing luxury homes in the Palm Desert area. He wanted art for his projects and I provided it in the form of free standing, wall mounted sculpture and large scale pastel paintings executed on prepared aluminum panels.

To make up these panels I devised a support frame that supported the metal face by attaching to the back side of the panel and them floating ...
