I began working with wood as a kid but have just recently begun to put my skills to work in an artful way. I enjoy discovering nature's beauty in it's raw form and then adding my own touches to transform it into something artistic and beautiful. The unique colors and grain patterns come to life through a laborious process. My specialty is the hand-polished finish that I apply to all my pieces giving them a glass-like feel. This is done by applying 10-20 coats of lacquer and sanding to 5000 grit or higher depending on the specific sheen I want to achieve. The medium is always wood which I believe to be one of the most beautiful achievements in all of God's creation. As a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, I enjoy the beauty of God's creation all around me. The mountains, the skies, the wildlife, truly reflect the words of the psalmist: "The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display His craftsmanship."
