Hernando Herrera

French artist, of Venezuelan origin, lives and works in Paris since 1984.
The fundamental thesis of his work comes down to the idea that the canvas is no longer a screen where are expressed either a mental state or the perception of an instant. It is rather a field where a spatial situation is being defined and fulfilled as an aesthetic perception through the correlation between geometric shapes and colors.
His research is based on the color and its language, notably the ratio color/light, by creating a chromatic movement into the picture perceived by the spectator's eye according to his motion.
Since 2013, the study and expertise of new technologies allow him to have myriad possibilities in his creation and to apply them to medias as varied as plexiglas, aluminium, canvas, wood or paper.
