Othmane Tagmouti

Othmane TAGMOUTI is an almost self-taught visual artist born in 1982. His passion for art began during his years of study in Paris, where he discovered museums and galleries. In parallel with his management program, Othman began taking some painting lessons in a small workshop in his neighborhood. Charmed by this artistic universe, he will try his hand at photography and will have a penchant for clichés in Black and White. Back in Morocco in 2005, he regularly attends his aunt's modelmaker's studio, which will provide him with materials that will serve as a starting point for his experimentation. Since that time, Othmane will not stop experimenting new techniques in his studio in Casablanca, drawing his inspiration from informalism and materialism.
This research will lead him to elementary and raw materials. The power released by the lacerated textures, scuffed, allow him a great freedom of expression.
He tries to use these works as a reflection of some traditional societies. The lack of education leading to all forms of violence, overconsumption and its effects on the planet, the place of women in certain traditional societies, and recently the migratory flows and their human consequences, are subjects that are close to her hear...
