Jennifer Asher

My sculpture explores the interplay of bold, distilled forms in the unrestrained, profoundly beautiful complexity of the natural world. This contrast is at the core of my work. My background in landscape architecture shaped the way I see space—as something living, shifting, and inherently sculptural. After years of designing landscapes, that perspective evolved into working with metal and creating permanent, abstract forms as a full-time sculptor.
My work explores themes of renewal, rebirth, and transformation through clean, intentional shapes set against the ephemeral, unpredictable beauty of nature. Each piece is a study in balance—between control and wildness, permanence and change, structure and flow.

I was born in New York City and raised in Marin County, just north of of San Francisco in a family of artists and designers. I received a Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley and moved to Los Angeles. I now reside in Ojai, California and continue to maintain a working studio in Los Angeles.

My contemporary metal sculpture is enjoyed in public and private gardens, parks, institutions, commercial spaces and unique properties around the US and abroad. I work closely with architects, designers, homeowners and collectors who are passionate about modern art and design.
