Elisabeth Thorpe

No better school to train the eye than the study of the human figure. In years of life drawing classes I have acquired a sensibility for the beauty and uniqueness of the human body, catching vitality and movement in a series of rapid sketches which are then translated onto canvas, board and paper. In my prints and graphic work I create monotypes using the origianal drawings which are applied as gumprints - a technique related to lithography - onto rag paper by means of a printing press.
