Hrafnhildur Inga Sigurdardottir

Hrafnhildur Inga Sigurdardottir was born on the farm Vestur Samsstadir in South Iceland and grew up there. Her hunting largescale oil paintings depict the mist and storm of her native land.Hrafnhildur Inga only uses oil on canvas in her work. Her motifs are most often taken from her homestead, the waterfalls, fields, lakes and marshes, without necessarily being from one particular place. These are memory fragments from travels around Iceland, throughout the highland area, and along the shores of Iceland. Water features in most of the artist's canvasses, if not waterfall, then a river, stream, gully or inconspicuous but treacherous quagmire.
