Igor Maikov's fairytale paintings are popular in many countries around the world, including Russia. They are appearing in new galleries around the world and are regularly exhibited among native artists in Latvia. Igor Maikov's kind and fairytale-like paintings radiate light.
The main characters in Igor Maikov's work are fairytale and literary heroes. A distinctive feature of his paintings is the unique manner in which he conveys light, as it is impossible to better succumb to the painting's mystical content.
It seems as if the artist's canvas glows from within, captivating the observer and drawing them in, transforming them into the mysterious device unfolding. 1981-1984: LMA (Latvian Academy of Arts) courses
