Katarzyna Adamek-Chase

For me, visual art is a way of creating a dialogue with reality. I try to follow nature which is the essence of a human being - diverse, powerful and ambivalent. I try to find balance between tangible and abstract things, realism and dreams, geometric and shapeless objects. Painting, despite its limitations, is a perfect form of expression. It can express knowledge and emotions. Topics that are trivial at first glance can hide multiple senses and symbols and contain versatile values. A variety of experiences keep me from thinking about just one technique or aesthetic. I use various methods not just for experimentation’s sake, but to highlight the unevenness of the world; Creation teaches humbleness and I don't want to keep my creations just to myself.

2000 - 2005: Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, Faculty of Graphics.
2005: MFA in the animation film studio of Professor Jerzy Kucia
2004: scholarship at the Universidad Politechnica de Valencia, Art Department, Spain.
1995 – 2000: Fine Arts Secondary School in Cracow

I live and work in Krakow, Poland. I devote my time to painting, graphics and drawing.
