Imants UrtāNs

I am a photographer from Riga, Latvia. I've worked with and my photos have been used by press (newpapers "Laiks", "Brīvā Latvija" and others), Latvian National Theatre, many professional musicians and in different albums and illustrations. I have also participated in various photo actions, exhibitions and contests winning different prizes, most notable of them being two gold medals in the photographers contest “Trierenberg Super Circuit 2010” in Linz, Austria, 1st place in 2015 Competition "Photographic World Cup" finalist category "Reportage", a gold medal in 2015 Photo Competition "Trierenberg Super Circuit 2015" in Linz (Austria), 1st place in 2018 Photo Contest International Photographer of the year 2017 in Open category: Long Exposure and the Grand Winner title of 2018 TZ International Photography and Art Community (TZIPAC) 6th Zebra Awards.
In my works I want to put an impulse for thought, I want to trigger the desire for solving some mystery. Symbolically I think that my artistic journey reminds of river boating: you derive pleasure from the very process and double it by enjoying the scenery around you.
