Alessandro Solombrino

Born in Naples in 1986, Alessandro Solombrino has always felt a deep and instinctive need to create. His first work—now lost—was his childhood playroom, its walls filled with pen and marker drawings inspired by cartoons and iconic films from the early nineties. Between the ages of five and ten, after covering the walls, he continued on the ceiling, attaching markers to broom handles to reach higher. His artistic path evolved into a Pop Art language that reflects his emotional and ethical view of the world. He portrays superheroes as human beings who reject violence as a form of salvation, distancing them from themes of war and destruction. This approach led to works like “War Is Not for Heroes”, a strong statement against war, as well as pieces with a gentler and more intimate tone, such as “Spider-Man’s Love”. In the “Animal Instinct” collection, the animals painted on canvas reveal a subtle melancholy, and his technique flows freely without strict forms. Pen drawing remains his most natural practice. This portfolio gathers pop‑culture figures and ballpoint‑pen portraits on simple receipts, capturing the spark of creation as it happens: with a pen, there is no turning back—mistakes stay and become new paths.
