Radko Oketic

Biography
Radko Oketič was born on 27th. August 1953 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where he graduated from the Design School. He started to paint in the seventies. In subsequent painting education his mentor was the art historian and fine art critic dr.Ivan Sedej. He worked for more than ten years within the field of Fine Art therapy for mental patients. In 2007 he led the watercolor course Illustrativo e ‘en plein air’ in Cellio in Italy. In 2016 his works were exhibited along a group of 11 other Slovenian artists at the Salon des Beaux-arts in Louvre, Paris.
He has had more than 40 personal exhibitions and participated in a great many group exhibitions at home and abroad. He has received several international awards for his illustrations.
Since 1995 he has had the status of a freelance artist, he is a member of Društvo slovenskih likovnih umetnikov (The Association of Slovenian Fine Artists) and Kulturno - umetniško društvo Kliničnega centra (The Cultural-Art Association of the Central Clinic), and Medicinska fakulteta (The Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana), dr. Lojz Kraigher.
He has lived and worked in Slovenia, Dane pri Sežani, in the Karst, since 1983.
