JiP L. is a young artist crafting contemporary pieces from reclaimed metal. She sees her work as giving new life to discarded items, excavating their soul and aesthetic potential. Five years ago, she began apprenticing under her father, Jean Patrick Lachappelle, an internationally renowned sculptor, after she suffered a devastating auto accident that left her unable to walk for a period of time. Hard work and a creative impetus gave her an outlet for the challenges she faced in her recovery, which turned out to be a gift in the wake of adversity. Her spirit and the individuality of each piece are evident in all of her work. JiP L. exhibits internationally and her gallery and studio are located in Charolles, Burgundy, France.
