David Weekes

In 2004 I resigned from my job in finance to pursue a career as an artist. I studied full time for four
years at the Heatherley School of Fine Art, a leading independent art school, successfully completing
a Diploma in Portraiture (with a portfolio that was highly commended by the Royal Society of Portrait
Painters) and a one year post diploma portraiture course. I now work full time from a studio in South
East London.
The emphasis on rigorous observation instilled at Heatherleys continues to inform my work, which is
predominately representative. I enjoy exploring different media and working across a wide range of
subjects, including still life, portraiture and the London urban landscape. My work has been shown in
numerous national exhibitions and is included in several private collections.
