Based in Serbia, Dušan Stanojević is a contemporary artist whose work navigates the delicate tension between domestic comfort and systemic destruction. Holding an MFA in Fine Arts, Dušan has developed a signature style characterized by a meticulous, time-intensive technique: using colored pencils on monumental canvases, often reaching scales of up to 3x2 meters.
His practice explores the concept of the "Quiet Threat"—the subtle, underlying anxieties that permeate our everyday environments. Through series such as "Comfortable Bombs" and "Third Shift," [Prezime] deconstructs industrial and military motifs, rendering them with a deceptive gentleness. By choosing the humble and fragile medium of colored pencils—traditionally associated with childhood and play—he creates a profound visual paradox when applied to subjects of conflict and machinery.
The sheer scale of his works, combined with the meditative repetition of each pencil stroke, serves as a form of resistance to the acceleration of the digital age. Each canvas is a record of time, patience, and deep observation, turning whispers of past and present tensions into intricate, poetic narratives.
