Kateryna Smith

My name is Kateryna and I am self taught artist beginner. I live in beautiful state of Virginia in wonderful country- USA. But originally I am from Ukraine.
The first time in my life I took a brush in my hand about 2 years ago at age 33. I still do not have explanation why I suddenly decided to try and paint in OIL. But sure thing it become my passion and hobby .
Since than I was painting on and off. I was experimenting with different mediums, so far oil medim are my favorite.
I love every single my painting and charge it with positive energy, and the biggest reward for me is a smile and words of appreciation of byers who very often become my friends and some of them follow my art and my journey from the very beginning when i was just started to paint.
I have a little tradition: every time when i sold my painting, or completed comission painting, or got reward for hosting painting party, some percentage from payment i got (about 50%) i transfer to volunteer in my little hometown in Ukraine and that volunteer takes care of orphans or families in need. I trust her and she sends me updates, receipts and photos of happy children with toy or basket of food etc.
So its win win for everyone.
