Peter Rylski is a modern Moldavian artist. He was born in one of the most beautiful corners of the north of Moldova, the Old Believer village of Pokrovka in 1964.
He began to draw at an early age, independently based on the original perception of the World, receiving inspiration from the picturesque landscapes of the beautiful Rudskiy Canyon and the original lifestyle of the Old Believers.
In 1986, Peter entered the Lviv State Academy of Arts and at the same time took private lessons in painting, graphic arts, sculpture and icon painting from prominent masters of Western Ukraine. Already during his studies at the Academy, the first personal exhibition of paintings and graphics opened in Uzhgorod Castle, where Peter, by the originality of his work, attracted the attention of the discerning public of Transcarpathia, Hungary and Poland.
In 1996, Peter returned to his homeland, where he was working on the creation of an iconostasis in the Rudsky Monastery and painted over 100 icons, observing the Byzantine technology of icon painting.
