I used to draw and paint watercolors in my youth and lately got back into painting, but now focusing mostly on oil and acrylic. I cannot call myself self-taught because I did have art teachers and took classes (my current instructor/mentor is someone who’s worked with Hockney for years, BTW. I’m honored) But I don’t have any formal art education per se. I like to explore and experiment with every new paining, with both technique and composition. My favorite styles are Fauvism, Impressionism, Expressionism, Realism and Modern, but I’m open to others, too: if an artwork is good it doesn’t matter to me how it’s classified. You don’t know what’s pleasing to your eye until you see it.
