Megan Barrass

Megan Barrass is known for her strong, typically Australian coastal themed paintings, along with her bold floral artworks; with a generous use of luscious coloured, brush strokes of acrylic paint onto large scale canvases.
The artwork is definitely a direct response from her environment. Scenes that we all experience, capture her attention, drawing the viewer in to focus on and explore the moment. Such as, going to the beach, with the colourful umbrellas and beach towels; bush walking and seeing the local fauna and wildlife; having a coffee in a waterside café; the visual delights that snorkelling offers or simply walking by Sydney Harbour. By using sketches and photography for her observational studies. Megan will collage the moments together to construct a narrative.
Working in the creative industries has been Megan’s life. Her work addresses ways of celebrating life. The aim is to create images so others can visually share the passion and optimism.
