Margaret Livingstone

My work is concerned with our interactions with technology and the way the Internet acts as an instant provider of gratification for a whole generation. I use humour and irony to ask questions. I always start with a central idea and a basic structure, but the process of creation introduces its own shifts, tangents, complexities and connections. I wish for clarity; however its usually a case of clinging on to my initial emotional response to the topic I am exploring. Sometimes it feels like I might drown in the many possible solutions and hope that when I do surface with something that it at the very least reflects my journey. My work is always emotional and is a reflection of my experience which I presume is much the same as anyone elses experience. Significantly its never quite what I want it to be, theres always something missing, something more to be said and consequently there is always the need to create something else.
