Benn Storey

Benn was born into a farming family in County Durham and grew up immersed in the working rural landscapes of the area. Early exposure to these environments shaped both a deep connection to the outdoors and an understanding of the human effort involved in maintaining them.

This perspective underpins Benn’s photographic practice. His work examines plants and landscapes as spaces shaped by human influence rather than untouched nature. By focusing on the subtle details of flora — their forms, colours, and interactions — Benn explores how ideas of the “natural” are often more complex, and more constructed, than they appear.
