I've just graduated from Anglia Ruskin University with a BA (Hons) Fine Art. Being Jewish, I have encountered a lot of prejudice and discrimination, even if those doing so don't realise it.

For my degree show, Kaddish was a body of work that explored the power of text and image, creating both tensions and connotations. In this instance, I was raising issues that might otherwise be dismissed or seen as non-existent. However, it still is my hope that the lessons of the past can be brought to the present, and through using modern techniques stop the unforgettable from being forgotten. I have not used either violent or famous imagery that can often turn terror into consumption; but to allow the viewer to draw their own conclusions of the topic based on their own ideas, to reflect on their perceptions and become aware of their own particular context, and to see that it is not over yet.

In the future I would like to do an exhibition with another series, looking further at the media and also tackle similar issues to make one large piece that can be interpreted as other things, not just anti-Semitism.
