Tijana Tyski

Creating is a way of communication between myself and Life. I do not know how to use words to express emotions or ideas. The only true way for me is through color, brushstroke, or pencil line. My hands are my voice. My work is telling the stories of what I have seen in this World. I started life in Belgrade, Yugoslavia then war sent me further away to Germany, Spain, Poland, and England. I have been honored to experience human differences, peace, war, people's mentalities, energies, languages, food, smells, music, passion, or order. Life started to feel like "The show that must go on" and, being a part of it, I started to "dress it up" by working as a costume designer for opera and ballet.
Much of my artwork has been lost through my journey but more is still to be created.

I like to think that each painting is one word that has a story to tell, and is different for everyone - just as our life experiences are. Each of us sees his or her own shade of yellow, red, and blue, just as each of us has our own journey to find rainbows.
