Xinxin is a Sydney-based artist working primarily with oil painting, egg tempera, ceramics and exploring additional materials. Her practice combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary surrealist approaches and extends across both two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms.
Influenced by Renaissance symbolism and the imaginative visions of early painters, she investigates the secret of time, curiosity, and the translation of ideas between painting and sculpture. Her work integrates cultural attributes and abundant cultural symbols, connecting personal experience with broader narratives. She has exhibited widely in Asia and Australia and collaborated internationally as an award-winning artist.
Her ceramics, in contrast to the precision of her paintings, embrace freedom, abstraction, and spontaneity, where natural irregularities introduce a playful and lively dimension that complements her overall artistic language.
Master of Design, Art & Design UNSW.
Bachelor of Art & Design, Chongqing University.
