Samuel Prophask Asamoah is a Ghanaian contemporary artist whose practice is rooted in versatility and material exploration. He works across painting, sculpture, and installation. His artistic journey began at an early age through observational drawing inspired by the natural environment. He is currently a PhD student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, where he also earned his MPhil and Bachelor of Arts degrees.
Asamoah’s practice is distinguished by a dynamic engagement with diverse media and forms, navigating abstraction, realism, and surrealism. His practice engages themes of ecological sustainability and articulates dialogue between waste and aesthetic value through the transformation of discarded materials. Working at the intersection of art and environmental consciousness, he recontextualizes waste into compelling visual narratives that interrogate consumption, material afterlives, and cultural memory.
