Marie Lavallee

Painting is an expression of joy and a way for this artist to convey her vision of beauty.

Marie, an award-winning mixed media artist, has been featured in magazines like My Modern Met, Bored Panda, Voyage LA, Bold Journey and more. She works from her home studio in Costa Mesa, CA.

She creates artwork using acrylic paint and metal leaf, on birch panels with rounded corner. Her meticulous brushstrokes capture the texture, color, and essence of birds and, occasionally, woodland creatures.

She highlights their beauty against a minimalist, graphic, Zen or abstract backdrop. The tear-drop-shaped background acts as a portal, halo, or spotlight, creating a serene environment where the birds rest.

All of this is also balanced with the essence of the birch panels, which plays a role in supporting this visual language.

The artist’s objective is to identify and preserve a moment of wonder.
