I come from a region of Greece, Tyros, in Arcadia,
where some characteristic features are noteworthy, such as, its dialect, (a remnant of the ancient Doric Greek language) and the traditional Weaving Textile Art which started at the end of the 18th century.
My grandmother learnt me that core values such as willpower, patience and passion are necessary in order to create weaving crafts.
We are a family among the few ones who still remain to continue this tradition that was left to us through our
ancestors.
I, as a third generation weaver, in an effort to revive this tradition, I teach Tsakonic Weaving in an Art School in the center of Athens. Ιt is nice to share through our creations elements of our culture.
